Project overview

From Evidence to Impact applied workshop at Heliopolis University, bringing together 20 practitioners for a full-day, tool-based learning experience focused on project assessment, design, and adaptive management.

We collaborated with Heliopolis University to strengthen practitioners’ evaluation capabilities, improve evidence-based decision-making, and support more effective social impact programming.

Designed and facilitated an applied capacity-building workshop using practical exercises, peer review, and draft outputs that participants could immediately apply to their ongoing projects. The work covered evidence use, Theory of Change, measurement planning, contribution analysis, and evaluative reasoning.

Knowledge Scores

Average knowledge scores increased from 82.1% to 93.3%, with the largest gain (+38.2 pp) in understanding the counterfactual .

Confidence Increase

Confidence grew across all competencies, led by measurement planning (+1.16) and Theory of Change (+34.7 pp at confidence levels 4–5) .
